Ways to Help

Make a child's wish come true this holiday season!

The holidays are a special time of year, but for the children and families we serve, the holiday season can be a reminder of what they don’t have… forever families, stable homes, and basic necessities. We here at CHOY need your help to give every child in our care the special holiday season they deserve- one full of magic, wonder, and time spent with people who care for them.

This year we are providing you multiple ways to give. We asked our kids what types of gifts would mean the most to them- and mixed among the Barbies and iPhone headphones were things like, “I want to be able to cook with my favorite team member” or, “I want to feel safe.” This holiday season, we invite you to help us make all of these dreams come true.

       1) Give From Our Wishlist                        2) Give The Gift Of Food                                 3) Give Peace Of Mind

Just like every other kid, the children we work with have made wishlists for the holidays. We have compiled these holiday wishes on our Amazon Wishlist for you to make a child's holiday brighter.

Our children are also in need of a few gift cards this year to purchase what they need. If you’d like to buy a gift card instead, here are our current needs:

Walmart Cards- 50 needed

DTLR- 4 needed

Shein- 2 needed

Sally Beauty- 2 needed

Ulta Beauty- 6 needed

For consistency sake we ask that all gift cards be in $25 denominations.

Please have all gifts sent to our campus at 77 Shoe House Road York, PA 17406 and addressed to Holiday Gift Drive. When you purchase something, please forward the order confirmation to donations@choyork.org.

Regardless of why they are with us, every child has the right to a warm and filling meal. Unfortunately, the rising costs of food have put a strain on our programs as we struggle to ensure every child has a chance to eat well. Will you give the gift of food this year to ensure every child has the chance to enjoy a home cooked holiday meal? It is a sad but true fact that not even children are safe from the crimes that take place in York every day. Faced with these circumstances, we want to take the step to update our security at all of our buildings to make sure our children, families, and team members feel like they are safe when they come to Children’s Home of York. While security may not be the first thing you think of when you think of the holidays, this is probably the best way your gift can impact the long-term safety of our children and families. Will you help us grant them peace of mind this holiday season?
