Executive Leadership
Our leadership has a strong commitment to serving the many constituents of our organization. Their primary goal is to ensure the quality and sustainability of the much-needed services we provide to the children and families in our community.

Our board represents a cross-section of our community and has a passion for our organization and those we serve. The members work hard to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization and oversee that the funds raised directly affect those in need.

CarrieAnn Frolio, Board Chair, is the Vice President of Integration & Business Development with Family First Health. CarrieAnn is responsible for the implementation of community health programs, behavioral health and substance use services in primary care at Family First Health. She has also served FFH as the Chief Operations Officer and Quality Improvement Director and was the Assistant Director at York County Children, Youth and Families prior to her employment at Family First Health. CarrieAnn holds both a BS in Psychology and a MSW from Temple University. She is a Graduate Student Advisor with both Temple University and Millersville University.

Rudy Kocman, Vice Chair, is the President of Kocman Insurance Group, Inc. (KIG), a third generation independent insurance brokerage operation location in East York. Rudy and his wife Pamela have owned and operated KIG since 1995. Rudy has a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Colorado College and is a Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA). Rudy was a member of the inaugural York County Class of the National MS Society and is currently a volunteer mentor and Program Coordinator for Susquehanna S.C.O.R.E. Rudy is an active member of the York County Economic Alliance, and a two time President of the York Chapter of BNI. Rudy has also volunteered as a youth sports coach for EYC girls and boys basketball, as well as the Dallastown Cougar and Red Lion Youth Football Programs. Rudy and Pam reside in Windsor Township and are the parents of four children.

Melissa Markey,Treasurer, is a Senior Relationship Manager in the Business Banking division of M&T Bank. She has been with the organization for 9 years and in the banking industry for 16 years. Her primary focus is on understanding and supporting small business clients across a variety of industries. She is a 2002 graduate of Shippensburg University with a BSBA degree in Finance. She is also a 2005 graduate of Leadership York and 2014 graduate of Mentorship York. Past community involvement includes volunteering with Junior Achievement, United Way of York County and serving on the New Birth of Freedom Council and York Hospital Auxiliary.

Zach Nahass, Secretary, is an attorney with the CGA Law Firm in York. He is actively serving on several community boards such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of York/Adams County and the York Art Association. Zach has held the title of At Large Board member and Chair of the Building and Grounds committee of Children’s Home of York.

Dale Brickley is the Senior Director of Innovation and New Service Development for WellSpan Philhaven. Dale is responsible for innovation, quality, performance improvement, community partnerships, strategic planning, and professional development. He provides leadership to new initiatives with in WellSpan Philhaven such as addictions treatment, telehealth, and physical health integration. He has previously overseen operations in the Outpatient, Residential, Crisis and Access departments. Dale holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from Lebanon Valley College, an MS in psychology from Shippensburg University, and has completed a post graduate certification in sexual offenders treatment from Ohio University.

Ashley Cherry combines her business savvy with marketing experience to fuel her collaborative, purposeful approach to enhancing client success. Her client base includes not only independent medical practices in radiology, obstetrics & gynecology, and a range of other specialties, but also healthcare-related associations, nonprofits, and other organizations and brands. As an internal cultural leader for Marketing Works and MW Healthcare, Ashley also works diligently to ensure that internal employees and processes harmonize perpetually with the company’s foundational values, with a focus on continuous improvement. She also spearheads efforts to scale our team’s approach to delivering bespoke client service experiences, by developing and managing vendor partnerships that align with the unique Marketing Works/MW Healthcare approach.

Brian Grimm is the Executive Director for York Day Nursery, Inc. Brian has demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. He is skilled in Strategic Planning, Leadership, Fundraising, Team Building, Management, Facilities Management and Safety and Security. Brian graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice/Police Science and a Master of Science, Information Science from Clarion University. He is also a graduate of Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program, Mentorship York Program and Non-Profit Leadership Academy. Brian is a member of The Rotary Club of York and The Lion’s Club International. He volunteers his time with the Farm and Lands Trust of York County, the United Way of York County and various youth sports.

Chyenne Gunn is the Assistant Director for Direct Marketing at Stanford University where her primary role is working with a team to raise funds for Stanford Medicine. Chyenne received her undergraduate degree from Mansfield University and a Master's degree in communications and marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. She is currently a Doctoral candidate at Northeastern University and hopes to continue furthering her career in higher education once the degree is completed.

Lindy Hitzel is the Business Development and Marketing Coordinator at Campbell Associates. Campbell Associates is a development and construction firm focused on simplifying the construction process from land acquisition to completion for multi-family/residential investors, nonprofits, and church groups. Lindy graduated from Grove City College with a BS in Entrepreneurship, a degree she uses everyday to increase brand awareness and growth potential for her firm. Lindy sits on the board of directors for the Y Community Development Corporation, the Society of Marketing Professional Services Central Pennsylvania, and volunteers for the National Association of Women in Construction South-Central Pennsylvania.

Miranda Jenkins is a licensed social worker and the district social worker for York Suburban School District. She works with staff, students, and the community to provide support and services. She is the foster care and homeless liaison for the school district as well. She has been a social worker for 14 years working in various communities with a wide variety of populations. Some of those included juvenile offenders, adults, HIV prevention intervention, and case management. She brings great collaborative skills and a hard work ethic. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania.

Tom Kaizar is a Tax Manager in RKL's Tax Services Group. He takes an in-depth approach to helping privately held businesses in the health care industry implement tax strategies that achieve their unique goals and objectives. His focus on regulatory compliance, strategic tax planning and financial management means his clients can focus on delivering high quality patient care. In addition to his health care industry focus, Tom also delivers tax, financial planning and consulting services to closely held businesses and high net worth individuals. Tom is a York College graduate and an Alumni of Leadership York’s 2018 Leadership Training Program.

Steve Klunk is a retired CPA who serves on several boards in the community. These boards include the Rotary Club of York, Rotary Charitable Endowment Fund and the Rotary International District 7380, York County Community Foundation and the Self Help Counseling Center. Steve is pleased to share his knowledge with Children’s Home of York.

Andrew Koplitz works for Peoples Bank as the Treasury Management Business Development Officer working with new and existing business customers in providing treasury management services designed to help businesses thrive. Andrew graduated from Millersville University with a BS in Business Management and immediately climbed the banking ladder within the York area. Community activities for Andrew include serving with the United Way of York County’s Emerging Leaders Society and Allocations and Agency Review Committees. He is an Alumni of Leadership York’s 2018 Leadership Training Program and a former Finance Committee member for the Dream Wrights Community Theater.

Vicki Stewart is employed by York College of PA as the Director of Human Resources. Vicki is a graduate of Penn State University and Villanova University. She serves on many community boards such as St. John’s Lutheran Church in Abbottstown. She has served as the CUPA-HR Chapter Co-Chair (7 years), CUPA-HR Regional Board member (including Chair-elect, Chair, Past Chair), CUPA-HR National Board member.

Natalie Williams is the Executive Director of Healthy York Coalition. Natalie leads the coalition’s advancement of goals and priorities to improve health and well-being for all York County residents. Natalie has been engaged in the York Community for many years and has a wealth of knowledge in community impact and the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Healthy York Coalition, she served as the VP of Community Impact at the United Way of York County. Natalie graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Psychology and holds a Master’s degree from York College in Public Policy and Administration. Her community volunteerism includes Junior League of York Past President, Leadership York, York Opioid Collaborative and York County Coalition on Homelessness.

Ilya Yakovlev works for York College of Pennsylvania as Chief Information Officer and oversees the Library and Information Technology Services. York College is a comprehensive private, four-year institution recognized for excellence in its professional nursing, business, engineering, and education programs. Ilya holds a MS and PhD in Computer Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
