About Our Permanency Program

The Children's Home of York's Permanency Program consists of our Foster Care, Adoption, and MultiDimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) programs.

Our traditonal foster care and adoption programs are designed to help children and adolescents secure a permanent, loving, "forever family," while our MTFC Program is intended to be a short term, supportive intervention for both the youth and natural family.

Both Programs work with a pool of "Resource Parents" and provide kinship care and respite support services throughout South-Central Pennsylvania.

"Resource Parents" are caring people who have the desire and ability to assist children in need by providing a safe, caring, and structured home environment. Through collaboration with the Children's Home of York, local schools, and other social service agencies, Resource Parents help children and adolescents in the important process of returning home, transitioning to independent living - or securing a permanent, loving, forever family.

Resource Parents can be certified to provide foster care, to adopt, or they can be dually certified to do both. For more information on becoming a Resource Parent, call the Children's Home of York's Permanency Department:
